Bjørneby Productions has made another book trailer for Cappelen Damm. I did not have time for the field recording, but have done audio post production and sound design.

The short film called “Livets Lenker” is directed by Magnus Bjørneby and shot on RED One by Torgeir Haugaard. Watch the film at the Norske Serier site.

I had a few big challenges with too low recorded sound with following noise, but the result should not be too bad. Have a look.

Here’s three experimental portraits.

The flash used is a Nissin DI466. A cheap deal. It works quite nice, but eats batteries. My dad bought one, and when I found out it syncs wirelessly to other DI466’s, I had to get one as well. The syncronization isn’t too stable, though.

The first and the last photos are done with long exposure and me running around with the flash. In the one with the two girls I even chose to show some of the blinks as an effect. The middle picture is the only one with two Nissin flashes used.

All three pictures are taken with my Canon EOS 400D and the 18-55 kit lens.

It’s fun to explore macro photography and depth of field, I enjoy playing with form and details. Since I spend a lot of time in my studio, which is a great place to be creative, I don’t need to go anywhere else to find motives. So here are the results of a photo session with a selection of my gear. This may not be considered art for anyone but audiophiles like me. Let’s call it sound gear porn.

Innotune.net is finally launched, a project I’ve been working on for the last six months. It’s an electronic music podcast and blog.

It’s been a while since I retired as a house dj and a host in the radio show about electronic music called Feedback. This winter I felt the urge to work with electronic music again, and I wanted it to be through a podcast.

When Håkon Lofthus (the co-host) and I did Feedback at the local radio station in Gjøvik (Norway), we featured fresh releases, gave the listeners EDM news and interviewed and had exclusive guest mixes from a lot of world known dj’s. Hybrid, The Thrillseakers, Matt Darey, Danjo & Rob Styles, Airbase, Gabriel & Dresden and Benjamin Bates were all featured in Feedback. As we only aired in the eastern part of the county Oppland, we didn’t have a lot of listeners. A new project like Feedback had to be available for people from all over the world.

My idea was to gather a few established EDM artists which should all contribute in the making of the podcast episodes. Like Feedback, this podcast would contain all kinds of electronic music. I turned to Håkon, cause I knew he wanted to get back into the EDM buzz as well. We developed the Innotune concept: A monthly podcast and a blog about electronic music. The Innotune collective was soon established, consisting of the following:

• The incredibly talented Swedish producer and dj Marcus Schossow.
• Thomas Sagstad, which is a friend of Håkon and me from the days of Feedback and the Myth parties in Gjøvik.
• Finnish dj and producer Ville Lope, a rising star.
• Håkon Lofthus, marketing professional with a lot of releases under the aliases Hawk and HKN.
• And myself.

We are all proud Scandinavians and ready to bring the cultivated world that viking sound.

This summer I’ve been building the website, doing the Innotune artwork and the sound design for the podcast. We launched the website 1st of September, and the first podcast episode was out on the 17th. From now on Håkon is the editor of the blog and I will produce the podcast episodes. All five of us will do the blogging.

I didn’t have time to do the field recording this time, but it still was fun to do the sound design for Bjørneby Productions latest book trailer.

The music is based on a track by Pierre Gerwig Langer, but I added a few elements and my wife Anne Marit did additional vocals.

The commercial is made for Cappelen Damm and directed by Magnus Bjørneby.

Every now and then I pull up my Canon EOS 400D to play around. The following pictures are captured with either my Sigma APO 70-300mm F4-5.6 lens, my Canon 18-55mm F3.5-5.6 kit lens or a Canon 50mm F1.4 borrowed by Øyvind Bye Skille.

Photography isn’t my first priority, so even though I dream of a better camera and a few more lenses, I don’t think it will happen for a while.
